(C) Item 1:, Personal Letter, dated 22 Apr 68, from Ba Chac (aka Vo' Chac, Regt XO, 165th Regt, 7th NVA Div) to Hung, informs him that, according to Ha's recommendation, V HQ (poss 165th Regt HQ) should withdraw in the event FWMAF/RVNAF elements were at Ben Tranh. As a result, K6 6th Bn, 165th Regt, 7th NVA Div should check information on FWMAF/RVNAF prior to withdrawal of V HQ, and K6 should have on hand half of its basic load of ammunition and rice until 10 May 68. In addition, K6 should draw 500 liters of rice for K5 (5th Bn, 165th Regt) because K5 was ambushed by FWMAF/RVNAF on the night of 21 Apr 68. As to K4 4th Bn, 165th Regt, Chac stated that this unit was still at its base in the vicinity of BM (poss Binh My). He also said that Assault Youth element and C26 were dispatched to Hung's place to assist K5 in ammo and rice resupply.
