Be stated that he had regrouped to NVN on 1 Jan 55 ((following the 1954 Geneva Accords)). In 1956, he attended ((secondary)) school in Hai Phong City. In 1957 he was transferred to the Chu Văn An High School in Hanoi Capital. Upon completion of the 10th grade in 1960, he was admitted to the Foreign Language Institute ((in Hanoi)) where he was trained ((possibly in English)) for four years. In early 1965 he was assigned to the Enemy Proselyting Department ((NVA High Command)) to exploit information ((gained through interrogation)) of US pilots captured in NVN. After serving in the cited department for several months, he asked to be sent to SVN. In Jul 65 he arrived in Military Region ((5)) and then was assigned to the Military Proselyting Section where he is now serving. His mother is living in Hanoi, and one of his cousins, Mai Van Con, a student pilot ((in Hanoi)) was to attend a training program in ((Red)) China. He stated that since his return to SVN in 1965, he has not been able to visit his native village. He was looking forward to returning to it in early 1972.
