The document states that in Aug 68, the enemy deployed an additional brigade in the Saigon perimeter and increased security activities in the suburban areas. However, friendly forces succeeded in disrupting the enemy's pacification plan and continued to hold the liberated areas. Unit X ((sic)) had killed 2,doe enemy personnel in Thuan rty Vill and Unit E ((sic)) put 300 out of action and downed 13 aircraft in Nha Be Dist. During the first days of the Third General Offensive, the forces of SR 3 successfully attacked enemy forces in Can Duoc Dist, Cho Dao and Rach Kien areas and Nha Be POL Depots. However, several shortcomings were noted regarding the participation of friendly units in the Third General Offensive.
