Personal history statement, undated, prepared by CPL Dinh Van Vân, Squad Leader of Unit 208C ((possibly Infiltration Group 208C aka 3rd Battalion, 208th NVA Artillery Regiment)), reveals that Van was born on 12 Aug 44 in Via Khê Hamlet, Hợp Tiên Village, Mỹ Đức District, Hà Tây Province, NVN. He was admitted to the Youth Group on 15 Mar 62, enlisted in 03-8208 (possibly 3rd Battalion, 208th NVA Regiment) on 16 Sep 65, joined the ((Infiltration Group)) 208C and started infiltrating SVN on 23 Jan 67. He was promoted to CPL in Aug 66 and assumed the position of Squad Leader of an unidentified artillery unit beginning in Apr 68.
