(e) Item #1: Message, dtd 29 Dec, signed by Tiên of Route #1 poss an elm responsible for activities along Route #17, addressed to Sub-Region 17 reveals that on 29 Dec poss 677 an elm of Cu Chi Dist, Sub-Region 1, COSVN 7 and Gia Diah 3 poss 3d Bn of 101st Wa Regt, Sub-Region 1, COSVN 7 attacked Phu Hoa Dist Seat, destroying three RVNAF plat and, killing six US Advisors. Doc also mentions that Suoi Sau and Rot Mia bridges on Route #1, Cu2 Chi Dist 7 and Ho Bridge on Route #8 in Trang Bang Dist were destroyed. Doc further reveals that on 27 Dec, a US CIDG Co from Dau Du was intercepted by six guerrillas of Duc Hiep Vill. Handwritten annotation on the first page of the doc indicates that the message should be forwarded to Rposs HQ, SVNLA (C) Item #2: Message, dtd 29 Dec poss 677, prepared by Ba Dinh of Rpo: s HK SVNLA 7, addressed to Sub-Region 1, reveals that Sub-Region 2 had conducted several attacks during the first part of Dec 67 incl the fo (On 11 Dec, an U/I VC7 Engr unit (poss of Sub-Region 2, COSVN 7 attacked a Marine Co poss RVNAF 7 bivouacked in an area closes to Vinh Loc Vill, killing 50 men, capturing eight wpn, and destroying Binh Dien bridge. There was another attack on the same day in an area 15 km from Saigon. On 14 and 15 Dec, D267 poss 267th Bn7 shelled Duc Hue Dist/Sub-Region 27 and ambushed a RVNAF 7 Bn at The Mo. All Sub-Regions were ordered To concnetrate their efforts to destroy GVN tyrants and all RVNAF 7 Main Force Mobile Units to expand their areas of activities, to motivate the people in rural areas, to intensify polit, armed and Mil proselyting activities and to create favorable conditions for achieving the strategic objective.
