Thuc enlisted in NVA Regular Forces on 9 Apr 62 and was admitted to the Party on 16 Feb 67. His parents , Hoang Van Thanh and Pham Thi Loc reside at his POB. Item #2: Undated PHS, prepared by Tran Quang Nhu, Lat Ldr, of T10, K6, reveals that Nhu was born in 1945 in Phúc Thanh Hamlet, Ninh Són V111, Gia Khanh Dist, Ninh Binh Prov, Mr. Thu was admitted to the Youth Group on 19 Apr 63 and enlisted in C1, D7, E66, 304 [1st Co, 7th Bn, 66th Regt, 304th NVA Div] on 22 Apr 63, then was assigned to T8, D966, E320 [8th Co, 966th Bn, 320th Regt] and infiltrated RVL in Oct 64. His parents, Tran Van Huyen and Nguyen Thi Ngai reside at his PCB. PHS further reveals that Nhu was awarded three Letters of Appreciation, one Certificate of Commendation and the title of "Brave Killer of Americans" in a battle on 11 Oct 67. Document was approved by Cao Van Hoang for Party Cell 2 who recommends that Nhu be admitted to the Party
