"Message dated 10 Oct from Vu to Vu, revealed that Vu's unit failed to attack an enemy reconnaissance company operating in Truong Tho and enemy troops stationed in Xom Trung on the night of 9 Oct. Vu's unit collected 200 lon of unhusked rice and 50 lon of husked rice. Vu's unit stayed close to various platoons of the reconnaissance company stationed in areas surrounding Bên Da in preparation to attack them. The reverse side contains another message from Vu to Vu dated 10 Oct, where Vu's unit fell into an ambush laid by the enemy in a hamlet of Hai Tho, and suffered one KIA."
