Personal history statement and application for Party membership, dated 9 May 1969, prepared by Nguyên Van Chien, Squad Leader of Z.8 ((possibly 8th aka 2d Battalion, 101d Regiment)) addressed to 28 Party Committee, requests that he be admitted to the Party as a probationary member. Document reveals that Chien was born on 10 September 1949 in Tan Thinh Hamlet, Cam Gia Village, Bac Thai Province. His father is Nguyen Van Tho and mother Duong Thi Hoc. He enlisted in the NVA on 7 July 1967.
