Discontented VC Recruit in Tri Thiên Hue MR. Diary maintained by Thanh Phuong aka Vinh, member of an U/I unit located in the vicinity of Hue City, Tri Thien Hue MR, contains notes taken during the period Jan-Apr 68. Subject reveals that he was a native of Hue City, but he had left his hometown in 1961 and went to Saigon where he worked for a Tailor Shop named Chi Cong until the end of 1967. During 1968 Lunar New Year Holidays, Subject and his wife returned to Hue where he and his wife were apprehended by VC/NVA troops on 4 Feb 68 in an area near the Huong River. They were then brought to a house possibly in the suburb of Hue City where his wife was released but Subject himself was interrogated together with one RVNAF CPT residing in Cho Moi (Hue), five EM of the RVNAF Marine Corps and one civilian named Tran Mau Ky who was an associate.
